Rock-painting

So this is a thing, now?

I took the day off and spent my morning painting rocks.

I will then seal them, and keep them in my car, until I feel it's just the right time to hide/drop it for someone else to find.

I've gotta say, I'm definitely enjoying this trendy hobby!

I am so happy with it and can't wait to do more.

The back is particularly interesting!

Blue Ridge Camping Weekend

We got a wild hair.

We decided to take the kids camping in Blue Ridge.

To our credit, the "camping" aspect was camping in a pop-up tent with an attached bathroom and cooking area. Not too strenuous, right?

What we didn't expect was the downpour on rain on Friday night that left EVERYTHING muddy and not suitable for a crawler and restless toddler.

And so, the weekend was a smidge more stressful than we were all hoping.

But we did have a lot of good moments! And even some sunshine and pool time!

In the end, my need to go camping with the kids have been fulfilled for a bit. ;)

Courter's First

My baby boy turned ONE on Thursday.

I can't believe how fast this year has gone by. Time is amazing.

We celebrated today with a "Wild One" themed shower. It was so much fun!

And pretty chill.

Just a little family and some friends. It was great!

Spontaneous Date Night - Ricos

Gary and I had a date night tonight and decided to go spontaneous.

We started from the Grands and went ahead and wrote out 4 instructions and then we got to driving.

We ended up at Ricos, which is really only about 4 miles from home. But we had never heard of it and it was basically a hole-in-the-wall (which is ideal), so we, of course, stopped in for dinner.

We were pleasantly surprised!

Some pretty solid Mexican food and a quaint little patio area.

We'll be back!
