to be continued...

Ladies and gentlemen...
I am pleased to announce that today is the last day of my 365 project!  :)
I made it a whole year, woo hoo!
And while I can assure you that I am not going away for good, I am certainly going to take a break and  not be tied to the computer  for a bit.
For that reason, today's picture is... to be continued.

It has been a wonderful journey!  This is one of the most consuming projects that I have ever undertook, but it has been amazing.  I think it's special to find something/anything on any given day that can be photographed and documented as something special from that day.  That is one of the things that made this project so impressive... there are always special things!  I find myself being able to reflect on the year and go back to a specific date and see what was happening in my life.  I learned quite a bit about photography, photo-editing, and composition.  I have delighted in seeing other art around me, and have had a blast creating some of my own!  Now, I would love to take the time to go through all of my posts and re-read them, and I'm sure I will, but for now, here are some of my favorite posts/pictures from the last year.
Today Felt Too Much Like Spring - January 29, 2011
Sew-Fool! - February 25, 2011

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my words and see my pictures!
Your support has meant the world to me, and the conversations that have come from what I have done, cannot be forgotten.
And if you have been following my "Year in the Life" on facebook, today is also the last day of that 365 project as well.  But I have plenty of ideas for more projects, and am even considering starting another by the end of the year... so we shall see!

At any rate, stick around, keep your eyes peeled, and prepare to be amazed!
Much love to you all!
Adieu!  ;)

Rain Boots

Anticipated severe thunder storms this morning.
Woke up to rain, and a few clashes by the time I got to work.
Wore the boots.
By lunchtime, the sun was out.
Moody weather.
And by the time we were leaving, the clouds had returned...
and the temperature had dropped.
And now I hear there's a chance of snow?

Cloudy

We've had some really interesting weather as of late... thunder storms and hail, and really intense clouds.  I love it, of course, and find these weather mood swings of January rather intriguing.  This time last year, the city was covered in a blanket of snow, and we shut down for a few days.  Icy roads, crusted snow, and biting temperatures, left us frigid.  This year, we're looking at highs in the 60s.  Crazy.  I do so hope that we get some more cold weather, and at least a taste of snow...  it doesn't feel like winter without it.

Red Top Mountain State Park

My sister and I traveled up to Red Top Mountain State Park and tootled around a bit taking in the sights and the peacefulness of the area.  It's such an amazing state park, and today, dreary and foggy as it was, it was awesome!  The ground was soggy, there wasn't a soul in sight, and everything was so calm and quiet.  It was spectacular!  And so beautiful!  It was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon, and something tells me we are going to be visiting this park a lot more in the future!

Hope you had a wonderful Sunday!
Happy week!  :)
Adieu

Happy New Year!

Happy 2012!
I hope you had a safe and awesome New Years Eve!
Cheers to bringing in a new year that promises to be a very exciting one!
We were good and lazy today.
Went to the grocery store, watched 'The Help', and a few shows on tv.
Cooked a 'lucky' meal which consisted of:
Hand-done collard greens
Black eyed peas
Ham and bean soup
Southern cornbread.
It was all great, but my favorites were the cornbread and the collard greens!
There is no cornbread better than my madre's cornbread,  hands down.
It's got a crispy outside, moist inside, and is soaked in butter!  Yumm!  :)
And the collard greens were a pleasant surprise.
I like greens, I'm not gonna lie, but finding good "greens", even at a restaurant, is hit or miss.
So I was a bit skeptical about making them at home...
But we found a bag of pre-washed bags at Publix for a buck, and we used the recipe on the bag.
SO good!  I want to make them again!  lol.
And then we sat down to watch another movie, and I crashed!
Not a bad way to start off the year.  lol.
And what's even better is that we get to do it all again tomorrow.
Or at least have more fun adventures/ activities.
So here' to 2012!
I hope you have lazy days - they are good for the soul!
Search for adventure, seek out joy, and above all, live!
Happy New Year!

Adieu!
